Marked by empathy, this production constitutes an act of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and with artists from Ukraine, a manifesto against war, an invitation to meditate upon the tragedy of our neighbouring people and to make contact with contemporary Ukrainian Dramaturgy.

Six actors bring before the public six monologues written by Ukrainian dramatists in the months following the start of the war, monologues that bear witness to the present of a nation confronted with one of the greatest challenges in its history, and indeed in the global world. ”On 24 February, 2022, a neighbouring country killed us all. We are no longer who we were. We have died.”

The Alexei Mateevici Theatre is a public institution, founded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Research of the Republic of Moldova. Its mission is to promote theatrical art, both lyric and dramatic and non-formal education for all categories of the public. Its first theatrical productions took place in 1979, under the aegis of the State Philharmonic of Moldova. In 1989, it became the Alexei Mateevici State Theatre. Today, it is an institution open to contemporary dramaturgy, experiment, and international collaboration.
