This one-woman show takes by storm of the theme of maternity, which it explores in relation to problems of fertility, traumatic inheritances, social stereotypes, and medical odysseys. A critical but subtle look at the insidious conditionings that (Romanian) society imposes on women, the monodrama is particularly impressive for the candour with which a role as generic as it is touching is constructed: that of the young mother. The negation in the title keeps an avenue open for the audience, who are invited to reflect on what is still included today—clichéd or authentic, intimate or prescribed—in the meaning of the source word.
