A high-school student invites his drama teacher on a late-night car ride, on the pretext that he wants to read to her some poems he has written. However, these suddenly break down into a mixture of declarations and dialogues, in which the line between the accusing and the erotic, together with that between the permitted and the not-permitted become thinner with each kilometre travelled. The sinuous play of the two actors communicates the tacit ethical problem, and also a somewhat subtler problem, that of the forms in which we contaminate or magnetize one another, until it is no longer possible to tell who has laid a spider’s web for whom. The natural sonority of the lines, together with the coup de théâtre at the end enable the production to communicate the tragic version of the tensions that can appear between the two parties in the classroom.
