From pandemic to war, from the economic crisis to the labour crisis in systems that claim to have the recipe for success or to be the springboard to a higher good, the production offers a sharp lesson for the times we are living in. The characters imagined by the author are embodied ‘at low heat’ on that slippery ground between minimalist theatre and oneiric performance, between psychological realism and docufiction, and bring onto the stage a number of stories and variables of loss, seen here as a motor of identity. Although their stories intersect in an NGO (in a metaphor of society on a small scale), the four figures remain somehow parallel in their becoming, the sign of a bitterness that the play ably captures, with a minimum of means from the sphere of pathos and a maximum of inner turmoil.
