The Housewives’ Apocalypse invites reflection on the influence of patriarchal prejudices in Romanian society. In a musical show using unconventional instruments, with a script based on real interviews, five female voices, of different ages, talk about the challenges that women face in today’s society. Prejudices regarding woman’s role in the family and in society, domestic violence, the models imposed on the female body from an early age by the consumer industry, the traumas left by all these over successive generations: these are some of the themes of this production, which we hope will inspire women and men of different educational backgrounds, of different ages, with various interests, to become conscientized together that the role of woman in society is that of an equal partner.
