During the period of isolation, the director’s grandmother passed away. Searching through her personal records, he found a sound recording of her and several photograph albums. The film is made up entirely of photographs, and presents part of her life story, reflected in the context of the socio-political events through which Romania passed in the twentieth century.

Through the alternation of two perspectives from two different worlds, one from Romania and the other from Afghanistan, the destinies of a Romanian soldier and an Afghan child intersect in a film that superposes the cold and frightening images of war with those of the familiar world of home. On the borderline between documentary and fiction, the film problematizes the traumatizing experience of war, both from the perspective of the invader and from that of civilians who have become collateral victims.
