Tuesday, 6 September | 6.00 PM | duration: 30min | Art Museum

Virus Diary is a project conceived and developed by Dan Perjovschi. The idea of the diary emerged in March 2020, as a form of adaptation to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic. Later, Dan Perjovschi invited other artists to get involved too, and the project became a collective one. The curatorial team also includes Ana Kun, George Roșu, Gloria Luca, Tudor Pătrașcu, Luciana Tămaș, Eirini Linardaki, Florin Arhire, Alina Andrei. The project has taken the artists and the public out of a state of numbness, offering another perspective on the uncertainties and anxieties induced by the pandemic. Initially, Virus Diary was published online (on Facebook and Instagram) by the White Cuib gallery, as a form of work-in-progress. Later, the exhibition made it onto real walls—at the Art Museum of Satu Mare, at ABM Confecciones Art Space in Madrid, at Borderline Art Space in Iași, at the Multicultural Centre of Transilvania University in Brașov, at the Consulate General of Greece in New York, as part of the OCCUPY #3 project at B5 Studio in Târgu Mureș, and at Casa Artelor and the Polytechnic Library in Timișoara.

The project has been contributed to by artists from Romania, Spain, Germany, the USA, the UK, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Greece, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Uruguay, Indonesia, Colombia, France, Malaysia, China, Japan, Poland, Moldova, Hungary, and Montenegro.
