This production presents four stories about women of different nationalities: one Japanese, one Iraqi, one Romanian, and one Tunisian, offering an intimate exploration of the impact that the condition of migrant has on each of them. The creators of the production have sought to give the protagonists an equal voice, one that reflects each one’s individuality and culture of origin. Their communal, but also individual, stories become the site of investigation for new forms of narration.
Founded in September 2020 in Lyon, Cie. Corps Indociles (Unruly Bodies Company) directs its attention to the theatrical codes that express cultural diversity. The interdisciplinary team is made up of artists from countries including France, Brazil, and Rwanda, who propose a decolonial perspective on the contemporary stage, using their mother tongues.
Production presented with the support of the French Institute in Romania.
