The performance intends to revisit “The Story of a Lazy Man” by Ion Creangă (1878), being inspired at the same time by interviews done by the entire artistic team, sociology and anthropology studies, online comments on social inequity. The fiction tries to reveal contemporary mechanisms criminalizing poverty, the role of mass media in constructing stereotypes associating “poverty” with “laziness”, as well as the social consequences of such narratives.
