The director and composer present their “covid production” Heroes of Capitalist Labour, based on the book of Czech journalist Saša Uhlová, who worked undercover in the lowest income jobs for half a year. She wrote about her experience and “heroes” she met in her diary, on which the book and the stage production are based..
The production was planned as a part of the international project POSTWEST, co-produced by Berliner Volksbühne, Prague City Theatres (MDP) and many other “East European” theatres (Teatrul Tineretului Piatra Neamț included). It premiered between two waves of covid and now is waiting for a revival in better times.

Jindřich Čížek, born in 1987, studied composition at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. His main artistic activity is the composition of music for theatre productions. His home theatre company is Lachende Bestien, and he works most often with its artistic director Michal Hába. He also writes music for Klicpera’s Theatre, X10 Theatre, and others. Another regular collaborator is Slovak director Šimon Spišák. Besides the theatre, his work also includes music for animated films. Martin Máj’s and Alexandra Hetmerová’s films with Čížek’s music have won many awards at festivals around the world. He plays with the band Kašpárek v Rohlíku and occasionally performs as an actor.
