Workshop: Spectator-as-a-critic

In the period 9–11 September, at the Theatre of Youth, Mihai Brezeanu will hold a workshop aimed at young people aged between 14 and 18.

“Why go to the theatre?”
Some people say that it’s good to go to the theatre (and some of them actually go). Others just ignore the nice building in the centre of Piatra Neamț – or at the most, they stop for a few seconds when the theatre comes out into the street. Who’s right? Is anyone right?

Open to high-school students from Neamț county, the “Critical spectator” workshop seeks to create a debate starting from the passion for theatre that starts to take shape at an early age. Why do some like it and others not? What expectations to those who chose to become theatre-goers have? And what about those who stage the productions?

When you’re 14, what’s to choose between TikTok and Theatre of Youth? Or is that not the right way to look at it? Anyway, what about mobile phones at the theatre? Permitted? Necessary

Mihai Brezeanu – by profession, electronic engineer and consultant – by occupation, associate professor at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest –  has been writing out of a passion for theatre and film for more than ten years.
